How to clean a printed desk mat without guessing

A short care guide for the current Concorde Aircraft Desk Mat, with verified supplier instructions and clear limits on what they cover.

For the desk-mat model used by the current Concorde Aircraft Desk Mat, the supplier recommends cleaning individual spots with warm water and washing-up liquid. A soft-bristled brush is suggested for stubborn marks; soaking the entire mat is unnecessary.

That answers the everyday cleaning question, but it does not establish a washing-machine programme or a drying temperature. Check which mat you own before applying the advice.

Which mat does this guidance cover?

We matched the current Concorde Aircraft Desk Mat Dark Edition to its supplier model on 16 September 2026. The source is Printify's Desk Mats care instructions. This model has a polyester face and natural-rubber backing.

The diagram below summarises the supplier's spot-cleaning guidance. It is an editorial illustration, not a cleaning test or a promise that every stain will come out.

A short care sequence

01 / START WITH THE SPOT

Use warm water and washing-up liquid on the affected area.

02 / KEEP IT LOCAL

The supplier says the whole mat does not need soaking.

03 / STUBBORN MARK?

The suggested tool is a brush with soft bristles.

What about machine washing and drying?

The linked care section does not specify a machine-wash cycle, numerical water temperature, detergent quantity or drying method. We cannot turn those omissions into approved settings. If your supplied instructions do not resolve a question, ask FGR4 support before trying a different treatment.

When asking, give the product name and edition, describe the mark, and say what you have already tried. A close photograph of the affected area and a wider photograph identifying the mat can make the question easier to answer. Keep personal details and anything on your computer screen out of the photographs.

Check the product, not just the picture

An aircraft image tells you the subject of a design; it does not identify the underlying material or its care requirements. A mat bought elsewhere, an older FGR4 purchase or a different product format needs its own instructions. Start with the information supplied with that purchase rather than assuming all printed mats are interchangeable.

If you are identifying the design, the Aircraft Series can help you find its current name. Our Concorde artwork guide is a closer look at the pictured design; it is separate from the care guidance here.

Before your next clean: check the instructions for your exact mat against the linked supplier guidance. If they differ, or the treatment you are considering is not covered, use the support link above to clarify it.
